Alicia Guzman and Cosme Soliz met at a dance in Alice, TX
September 1954 while Alicia was staying with her sister Gloria and brother-in-law Octavio Valadez.

They dated a few times over three months before Cosme asked for her hand in marriage.

The wedding was celebrated Dec. 26, 1954 at St. Joseph's Church in Donna, TX. The flowergirl was Alicia's niece Olympia Valadez, and the ringbearer was Cosme's nephew Danny Solis. A reception was held at the Women's Building where cake and hot chocolate was served.

The bride's parents, B.G. and Maria Guzman, held a family reception afterwards where they served a Cabrito lunch.

Later, the couple left for their honeymoon to Monterrey, Mexico. For the next 50 years, Alicia and Cosme lived in Alice, TX. The lovely couple have three children: Luis Angel, Jimmy and Paul.
